Strawberry Farms

I am completely in love with these wedding invitations designed by Promise Tangeman. I like how she incorporated different elements like distressed paint and lace. So inspiring. Nicely done, Promise.

Sigh of trust

I can't believe we're almost finished with July! This year is going by so unbelievably fast. I feel like there's so much I need to be doing, so much more I need to be accomplishing, so much more I want to be doing with my life. :sigh:: God has his timing in perfect placement; I need to be more trusting. Until then, I'll just try and enjoy my summer. (:

Ps. I can't believe I've been out of college for almost 2 years! Oh my goodness!

Kiss me

Just a little love image to start off your Thursday. (:

Etsy Offices

We all love etsy. I think I would love it even more if I worked in their office. Isn't it just beautiful? If I worked there, I think I would be happy every single day. (:

Flaunt it

5 years ago, I would have turned my nose up at the thought of a one-piece bathing suit. I ordered my second one yesterday. Not sure what has changed, but I think they can be so beautiful, modest and sexy all at the same time.

Pop Bar

Did everyone else know about Pop Bar or am I completely behind? My next trip to New York, they will be getting my business. I wan to try Coffee and Strawberry Lemon Basic. Yummm.

Backyard Makeover

Do you have a backyard? Not sure what to do with it? Sunset has 46 different ideas for you. Below are a few of my favorites.

Dresser Love

My current dresser is circa 1990's. She needs a little TLC. I'm thinking of stripping her down and slapping on some paint. I'm loving how all of these are unique in their own little way...

Dr. House

(info and image via Yahoo!)

I'm such a big House fan; this gets me so excited!!

Viewers of Fox's medical dramedy "House" are used to seeing Dr. Gregory House relieving post-work stress on the piano or the electric guitar. But now actor/comedian Hugh Laurie is getting serious about his other talent, signing a deal with Warner Music to record a New Orleans blues album with the help of a legendary producer, and Laurie says he's "drunk with excitement" over the prospect.

Laurie, 52, has been showing off his musical talent on screen for years, playing piano on "Jeeves and Wooster," one of his collaborations with comedy partner Stephen Fry before Laurie left the UK to become famous on these shores as Dr. House. The scratchy-voiced star also played the keyboard and sang "Such a Night" by legendary New Orleans bluesman Dr. John at a Netflix live event in August of 2008. Laurie even played piano on Meat Loaf's most recent album after the two met on the set of "House."

Laurie will record the album this summer for a fall release in collaboration with producer Joe Henry, who has worked with the likes of Elvis Costello and Loudon Wainwright III, and has even written songs for Madonna. Of Henry, Laurie told the BBC "I am particularly thrilled to be working with Joe Henry, who has produced some of my favorite records of all time, and I can't wait to get started."

I hope this exciting prospect doesn't flop like some other actors-turned-musicians.

Watch him perform.

Blow that pinwheel

It has been in the high 90's the past few weeks here in Atlanta. Summer is definitely not my favorite time of year, but the bright colors help me through. I'm loving this yellow pinwheel notecard by Duet Letterpress. Wouldn't you love to find this in your mailbox with a little hello from a friend?

(buy a set of 4 notecards + envelopes here)

High-five

This is the best 'about' section of any website I've ever seen. Possible idea for future engagement? Yes.

Check out the full length video here.

*Update: I think they took the video down. :( I'll try and keep you posted as to when they put it back up!*

The Pie Hole

I've always been a cake & cheesecake fan. However, the boy has made me see the light. I've added pies to the list. Pies are so fantastic, that crust, that filling, so many choices!

The Sketchbook Project

The Sketchbook Project: 2011

I got my sketchbook from Art House Co-op in the mail! I'm so overly excited I don't know where to start. I'm in the " Things found on restaurant napkins" category. Can't wait to finish and see my sketchbook when the tour comes to Atlanta! What category are you in?

Surfing

This morning, very randomly, I'm realizing I want to try surfing. Not sure how long I'll be able to stay on the board, but I'd like to try it some day.

Vertical garden

insitu offers such a unique way to plant your flowers or herbs! These are great for space saving, empty walls or apartments. I must start saving for my own set.

Chocolat Chip Banana Bread

My first experience making bread was such a success! Even though it's not sandwich bread, oh my goodness! SO yummy! I will be making this again in the future.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3 bananas, mashed (1 cup mashed banana)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

PREPARATION

  • Pre-heat the oven to 350°F
  • Grease and flour a loaf pan (or use baking spray)
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, sugar, baking soda
  • Mix in oil, bananas and eggs
  • Stir in chocolate chips (I know it says a cup, I used about 1c and 1/4).
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. About 70 minutes.
  • Cool loaf in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out and cool completely, right side up.
ENJOY!

Bow Tie

I'm so impressed with Liz over at Say YES! to Hoboken. She bought this beautiful fabric at a yard sale and waited for a year and finally found the perfect way to use it. She did a fabulous job with this beautiful pencil skirt. Really, I'm impressed.

Anthropologie has my heart

I am a huge fan of chalkboard paint. HUGE. Naturally I was elated when i saw these over a Poppytalk. I was even more ecstatic when I saw the images were from Anthropologie's July catalog!
