Fiery side chignon

Whoa! That was my first reaction. To the fire engine red hair. To the red red lipstick. To the beautiful hairdo. Now I'm antsy for the opportunity to attend a holiday party. Just so I can do my hair like this. Simply gorgeous.

Check out the how-to.

(This has been posted several times throughout the blogosphere, but I just couldn't resist.

Dreamy

This is the most beautiful mother/daughter photo I've ever seen.

Enjoy the rest of your afternoon!

Anthropologie Windows

As we all know, I am a HUGE fan of Anthropologie. I just love all their home pieces and each piece of clothing. Swoon.

Whenever I need a creative pick-me-up, I turn to Anthro. Here's a little creative juice for ya.

the Funival

Our church puts on a "funival" for Halloween every year. This year, I got help out in several different areas and had a blast! The boy's mom and I set right to work after the church service. We made a TON of lemonade, hot chocolate, apple cider and some toppings for the hotdogs. After helping and get everything set up, I got to walk around for a little to oo and aahh at all the littles. Their costumes were so cute!

I also had the last time slot to face paint with one of my favorite women at church. So much fun! Can't wait 'till next year!

Did you dress up for Halloween?

I miss you.

I don't want to talk about it to you
I'm not an open book that you can rifle through
The cold hard truth that you'll see right to
I'm just basket case without you

He's not a magic man or a perfect fit
But had a steady hand and I got used to it
And a glass cage heart and invited me in
And now I'm just a basket case without him

You're begging for the truth
So I'm saying it to you
I've been saving your place
And what good does it do?
Now I'm just a basket case
Now I'm just a basket case

I don't say much and it'll stay that way
You got a steel train touch and I'm just a track you lay
So I'll stay right here underneath you

I'm just a basket case and that what we do

You're begging for the truth
So I'm saying it to you
I've been saving your place
And what good does it do?
Now I'm just a basket case

Won't somebody come on in and tug at my seams?
Oh, send your armies in of robbers and thieves
To steal the state I'm in I don't want it anymore

You're begging for the truth
So I'm saying it to you
I've been saving your place
And what good does it do?
Now I'm just a basket case

I know you're reading this. So I'll just go ahead and tell you...I miss you. I know we have a lot to work through, and a lot to talk about. But just know...

Design Your Own Alphabet

If you can't already tell, I'm a big fan of Design*Sponge. I'm also a big fan of typography. I just love all the different letters, shapes and size, decorative and classic. They all blow mind. (As does Jessica Hische. The type Queen.)

So as you can imagine, I'm super excited about the new contest that Design*Sponge launched yesterday.

Design your own alphabet!

If you win, you get $500 worth of Veer goodies!

Girls Weeked Recap

This past weekend my mom and I drove to Hilton Head to celebrate her birthday for the weekend. On the way down, we stopped in Savannah to pick up my Gma and have some lunch.

This was at the airport. She was so excited to see us!

Bikes seemed to be big in Savannah!

My mom wore this button around all weekend! (It's become a tradition) On Sunday afternoon, her and my gma were in line to eat at Lady and Sons. A lady came up to her, threw her arms around my mom and kissed her on the cheek! She was so excited to tell mom happy birthday! (:

On Friday, we ate at this cafe. My gma had the best lunch. Tomato, bacon and melted cheese on baguette. I don't even like tomatoes and I scarfed my share up!

We had a laugh with Marilyn.

This awesome sand castle was inside our hotel lobby!

I'm not a huge fan of being hot and sweaty. So being on the beach when it's 90 degrees out is not fun to me. However, this was my kind of beach weekend. 77 degrees, breezy. It was perfect.

And I end with my favorite picture of the weekend. I captured this at the best moment, both my mom and my gma were laughing and enjoying each other's company!

Notecards + Poster

I just love a good play on words. These notecards have that down to a T. They definitely brightened up my morning on this rainy day.

They also carry this rad poster.
